FORMATION OF BRANCHES
The board, working with the old New Zealand Poultry Association, has sponsored the formation of the New Zealand Poultry Producers' Federation, and already many branches have been formed. The idea is to havo a branch in every district so that all poultrykeepers whether registered or not, can join up and be familiar with the advice of the board. This week the Wellington member of the board, Mr. G. S. Bates, visited Palmerston North, where a strong branch has been formed. Not only will poultry politics bo discussed at these meetings, but anything of interest to poultrymen will be brought up, and already some excellent meetings of an educational type have been held. As usual, South Island have been quick to organise, and it is hoped that by the end of the year branches will be established in all centres. The first object of the federation; it is stated, is "to organise, develop, and promote the interests of the poultry industry in general and to foster a spirit of cooperation among all persons engaged in tho poultry industry in New Zealand." Members of the board and past supporters of tho New Zealand Poultry Association have given freely of their time in the cause of organisation, and it is to bo hoped that poultrymen will really co-operate in trying to improve the industry.
