A NIGHT'S REST.. •The hour was late and the.night was dark. The traveller found the' village inn and hammered on the door. ■■ ■■ After a time a sleepy head peeped out of a window. '■•' ' "Can I stay here for the night?,1' asked tho traveller. "Certainly," was the reply, and then a pillow came- down. "You may need this in case th» doorstep Is too hard." A HOME TRUTH. Little Jack, who was staying with his aunt. was trying manfully to cut his meat at dinner time. "Are you sure you can manage, dear<" asked "Yes. thank you, auntie." replied Jack. "Wt I often have meat as tough as this at home."
