CAMPAIGN REVIEW

The annual meeting of the Otago and Southland division of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society was held yesterday, Sir Louis Barnett presiding. A review of the year's work was gi\7en by tho chairman, and addresses were delivered by Dr. Moran, the Sydney radium consultant, and Dr. Begg, who reviewed recent lines of research. He said that one phenomenon that so far seemed to them to be a precursor of cancer was the localised collection of certain cells. The rather scant)- evidence which they had at present indicated that these cells were not as harmless as was hitherto believed to be, l>ut- "that they may play a real part in. the production of enncor.
