FANCY DRESS PARTY

AN ENJOYABLE FUNCTION

A most enjoyable children's fancy dress party was given by Mr. and Mrs. Spierling last Saturday in aid of the "kitchen stall" at St. Thomas's Church Bazaar. The hall was filled with children- of all ages in brightly-coloured frocks.

Prizes for the best fancy dresses were won by "Cqster," "Eobin Hood, "Oldfashioned Lady," "Ovaltine," "Chinese," "Pride of the Pacific," and "Beckett's Blue," a special prize being won by Miss Hands as "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary.'-' Tho entrance of "Mr. Laurel and Mr. Hardy" caused much amusement through the afternoon.

Dancing items by the pupils of Miss Nancy Eabe were enthusiastically received. Those taking part in the Bat Ballet, tap-dance, "and Toyland Dream were: Mavis Dodds, Phyllis Spieriing, Mama Garland, Eosa Gyles, Ngaire Hare, Valerie'and Dawn Allaway, Audrey Mills, and Margaret Hodder. An elocutionary item was given by' Phyllis Hare and a song by Miss V. Frame. Mrs. Sherring made an excellent accompanist for the dancing and games. Afternoon tea was served.
