1 HELP FOR THE Y.W.C.A.
ANNUAL MEETING HELD
The wide range of activities covered by the Y.W.C.A. programme was reviewed at the annual meeting of the association hold in the Blue Triangle Hall last evening at which Mr. D. A. Ewen presided.
In moving the adoption of the annual report the president, Mrs. B. Gardner, expressed her board's appreciation of the manner in which the girls sharing in the activities had assumed responsibility towards the association. She spoke with feeling of tho loyal support of the board of directors as well as of Miss 'Ijridgmau's' splendid service as general secretary.
Tho balance-sheet for the year was adopted on the. motion of Mr. E. W. Hunt, who, in speaking of the large annual interest commitments, expressed the hope that the association would on& day bo the recipient of a legacy largo enough to considerably reduce this pay-
nient.
Mr. Ewcn, in eulogising the work of the board and staff, made an appeal for an increased membership roll. He felt that if the citizens of Wellington realised .the great* work of the association —that 1000 girls and women wore connected with the association, using its privileges weekly—the membership would stand at 973 instead of 307.
Tho election of board members resulted as follows:—Mesdames B. Pearson, A. Lawson, B. Bennie, E. B. Wilson, E. Hunt, Miss Low (re-elected), Mesdames W. M. Page, J. N. Wallace, P. M. Cameron, Miss G. E. Plimmer.
