His Excellency will visit the Wanganui Development League's afforestation camp for youths on. Tuesday morning, and will return to Wellington the same evening. Mr. John Farrell, representing J. 0. Williamson,.Ltd., arrived in Wellington yesterday to complete arrangements for "the production of "The Dubarry" and "Waltzes from Vienna." Mr. Allan J;- Bartlett was recently decorated with the Polar Medal by the King aboard the Royal yacht at Cowes.Mr. Bartlett was a member, of the. British, Australian, and New Zealand Antarctic Research Expedition of 1929-31. Three members. of, the expedition: who are already in possession of tho.medal have received an additional clasp, and Mr. Bartlett is. one of . the, 55 others who have gained the - award' for the first time. ■' The silver. Polar Medal was established by King Edward in 1904 for award to members of Captain. Scott's Antarctic Expedition in the Discovery, 1901-1904. -.-...-,■■ ' Tho British Minister of Agriculture, Mr. W. Elliot, announced- recently in. the House of Commons that Lieut.Colonel Sir John Chancellor had agreed fo. act as chairman of the Cattle Committee to be set up under the. Cattle Industry Act, with Sir Francis Boys as vice-chairman. The Committee will advise Ministers,;in the administration of the cattle fun,d, from which, payments will be made 1 to farmers.
