KARORI'S PROGRESS
In recording a season of considerable moment in the history of the club, the annual report of the Karon Cricket Club, to be presented at the annual meeting this evening, states that it can be said without four of contradiction that the season under review was very eventful, marking'a definite era of progress as far as cricket in Karori is concerned. The report adds: "The closing season saw our senior team with a wicket at Karori and a very good wicket, too; thanks to Mr. ■I. Stack, the caretaker, and to the City Council. In addition, however, we were able to lease the pavilion, and thus provide afternoon tea to all the players—a feature of other suburban grounds that we have long wished to emulate. A further great improvement at Karori has been the provision of a score-board—this has been greatly appreciated by all, players and' spectators alie. These improvements alone helped in making the past season one of vast enjoyment to all." The club had four teams playing each Saturday, one of which was financed by Makara and played in the junior B grade. Tho four teams all had good seasons and helped the club to. a higher position in the club championship than previously held. The club finished first oi all junior clubs and ahead of three senior clubs— no mean achievement considering the points allotted for a win in the senior grade.
