There was a large attendance for the concluding clay of the combined meeting of the Taranaki and Egmont-Wangamu Hunt Clubs, though not so large as there woukl have been had the morning been more promising as regarded weather. There was a thick misty rain in the morning, but it cleared away,/ and the afternoon proved fine and pleasant.

The totalisator returns wore £7102 10s, against £6434 10s, for the Taranaki Hunt Meeting last year. The aggregate for the two days was £ 13,176 10s, compared with a total of £9026 10s for the two meetings held separately last year. « After being well back in the early stages erf the Hack and Hunters' Hurdle Race, Ruanui moved up at the half-mile, and joining Silent Bill ia the straight outstayed him in the run home. Silent Bill was always nicely placed, and took charge -three furlongs from homo. Count Lendroff was a poor third and Harvest Moon was fourth. . War Eagle fell at the last fence and Ruaform came over on him. Jumping out cleanly, Gold Mission led all the way in the Scurry to score nicely by half a length from Colossal, who put up a solid performance, as he drew one of- the outside places at the ppst.
