ALLEGED BREACH OF CONFIDENCE
(By Telegraph—Press, Association.)
HAMILTON, This Day
Replying to an allegation made by tho Hon. A. D. McLcod in the House of Representatives last week that Mr. T. C. Brash, secretary of the Dairy Produce Board, had committed a breach Of confidence at tho annual meeting of tho New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Association, Mr. Dynes Fulton, chairman of directors of the company, interviewed today, stated that in fairness to Mr. Brash it was necessary for him, as chairman of the mooting, to point out that.if any breach was committed he was responsible and not Mr. Brash. , "The ; matter arose," said Mr. lulton, "through a question asked by one of the shareholders as to what action had been taken by tho dairy industry in connection with the exclusion from export of 'bobby' calves and boneless beef. The first meeting between the Dairy and Meat Boards respecting the matter was held on July 12, and information was supplied by myself at the annual meeting, It was well known throughout New Zealand that when making tho explanation I referred to the fact that Mr. Brash was present and would bo able to confirm what 1 said. Mr. Brash stated that the decision was ono of the Meat Board and not the British Government, which, of course, is true. Nobody was blaming Hie Meat Board. lam very surprised that Mr. McLeod should go. so far _ as to condemn an officer of tho _ Dairy Board beforo he is conversant with the full facts of the case. lam also surprised that Mr. McLcod docs.not consider that the dairy farmer is entitled to know exactly what is taking place regarding his own production."
