Sir Henry Fowler is chairman of the committee of tho British Association which has been considering tho question of reduction "of noise, and has already carried out important investigations on tho subject. The committee was sot up at last year's British Association meeting, and its experiments have been carried out at Southampton University and tho National Physical Laboratory. Tho results will be publicly disclosed at tho association's meeting at Aberdeen next month, which will be attended by tho Minister of Transport. It is understood that scientists have perfected.a silencer which reduces the noise of motor engines to a minimum without lessening their power.
