CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNEY
FINALS REACHED
All championship events in the North j Island badminton tourney reached the final roundel as the result of play at tho Win- j ter Show- Building last evening. Some excellent games wei'o seen in the'semi-1 finals, the standard of play being high genei'ally. H. D. Kcid, who defeated L. Pollock j on Thursday evening in tho men's singles, j beat J2. A. Eouesell last evening aad reached the final, J. Vaughan, by beating N. Hull-Brown, is the other finalist. Reid's win was an outstanding one, for the game against Roussell went to three 'sets. JRoussell took tho first 15-9 and had gone well towards winning the second when Reid made a fine recovery and, smashing brilliantly, took tho set. In the deciding set Rind again showed confidence and won 15-6. Miss J. Treloar and Miss N. Morgan arc the finalists in the women's singles. CHAMPIONSHIP MATCHES. Men's Singles. Third round: E. A.
