UPPER HUTT COUNCIL
The Mayor (Mr A. J. MeCurdy) presided at last' evening's meeting of the Upper Hutt Borough Council.
The borough inspector (Mr. C. E. H. Yarnell), in his report for the fortnight ended August 9, stated that two cases of diphtheria were notified. Visits had been made to the sanitary depot, which was satisfactory. He had devoted a considerable amount of time, both day and night, with regard to the new regulations for testing brakes and lights of motor vehicles, but a groat amount of work, still remained- to bo done.
