CHAMPIONSHIP COURSE
On the casting vote of the chairman (Mr, L. A. Bond), the harrier, sub-com-mittee of the Wellington Amateur Athletic Centre decided, at a meeting last evening, upon a course at Lyall Bay for future provincial cross-country ' championships. The choice lay between the course selected and one at the Hutt submitted by Mr. J. Goodall on behalf of the Hutt Valley Club. • ' A brief outline of the new course, which" .embodies partsV of the Vb'sseler. Shield course, is as follows:—From a start at the extreme end (western) of Lyall Bay beach, the 'course leads along the beach to Moa Point, and follows the road, to the divide in the hills which- the Vosseler course traverses. The course bears to the light', travelling towards Beacon Hill, drops down^ to the Stellin Estate, and bears across country to near the' Seatoun tunnel. Monorgau Road is then followed, and tho trail passes to the back of the golf links,, and. emerges on to the beach road at the point in the Vosseler face."" The- road, is then followed back to the finishing point at Onepu Road. ■ •
