The Argyll County Council was lately negotiating for Garmel, one of the largest houses on the island of Tiree, Inner Hebrides,so that it could convert it into a new police station. The "force" consists of one policy.ian— the island is so well-behaved. The population is 1500, and in addition he has the neighbouring island of Coll, with a population of 300, oh his beat.
