A MAYOR'S CRITICISM
(By Telegraph) (Special to the "Evening Post.") DUNEDIN, This Day. When asked his opinion , concerning the increase in sustenance' rates, tho Mayor (the R«v. Mr. Cox) said he was opposed to men getting'sustenance instead of work, particularly when it meant, even with the increased sustenance, less income than that which tho men received from relief work.' A;man with three children wouldloso 9s 6d a week, which he certainly could not afford to lose. The only consideration on which ho would support it would be if the sustenance were on the same basis as the- payment the men wore getting for work at.present, that .was, where the:cities.could provide wqrk.T
