TRANSPORT APPEAL
COURT RULING AWAITED
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) TIMAEU, July 26. A case similar in many respects to that in which Anstiss Motors, Nelson, are appealing to the Supremo Oourt for a ruling as to the constitution of the Transport Appeal Board came before the No. 8 District Licensing Authority today, when W. Boag, of Timaru, applied, for a renewal of a licence and an. extension of the number of trips a week botween Christchurch and Dun* edin. Boag appeared before the Central Licensing Authority, Sir gtophen Allen' and Mr. H. B. S. Johnstons, in October, 1933, the authority granting one licence out of three applied for, Boag appealed against this decision, and went before the Transport Co-ordi' nation Board, comprising Sir Stephen Allen,. Mossvs, H. B. S.i Johnstone, and L. Alderton, the appeal being disallowed. Today -Bpag made application to the No. 5 District Licensing Authority for a renewal of the existing licence and an extension of the permit to use three vehicles. The chairman, Mr. J, D, Hutchison, raised the point whether tho authority was empowered tq deal with, a case in which the Co-ordination Boaril had given its decision. * After argument it was decided to I adjourn tho case to Christohuvch, by which time the decision qf the Supreme Court in tho Nelson caso will ba available. ____^__^____
