BADMINTON
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION
At a meeting of the Wellington Badminton Association this week it was shown that a number of new clubs had been formed and. affiliated with the association, and that there had been an increase of membership of affiliated clubs since the last annual meeting of 139. The question of holding inter-club championships -next season was discussed, and it was decided to leave the matter in the hands of the executive. An offer by an anonymous donor through Mr. C. E. W. Levin of a trophy was accepted with thanks. Regret was expressed at the proposed retirement of Mr. N. A. Foden from the position of chairman of the executive. The results of the inter-club competitions were'announced as follows:—A grade Queen's Club; B grade. Winter Show Club; C grade, Wesley Club. At a subsequent meeting of the tournament committee for the forthcoming North Island and Wellington Badminton championships to be held at the Winter Show I from August 8 to 11, the secretary reported that entries appeared to be comin<* in satisfactorily, and that arrangements were being put in hand to cope with what appeared likely to be the largest entry for Badminton championships yet held in Wellington.
