RECENT DANCES
KILBIRNIE SCHOOL
Brightness and cheerfulness were the characteristics of. the fortnightly dance held under the auspices of the^Kilbirnio Home and School Association. The dance room was gaily decorated with coloured streamers ■ and quaint Chinese lanterns' made soft subdued '.lighting. The orchestra played bright music with all the latest "catchy" songs,'and .the ladies' committee served a delicious home-made supper.

Prizes we're' awarded to the ■ winners of the animal dance, "The Two Bears" (Mr. G. Taplm ana Miss K. Rhodes). A novel dance created much merriment in which six couples had to dance the sailors' hornpipe, and -was won by Mrs. ,0: Smith and' Mr. -L. 'Porkhis._and .Mrs. 'Batching ;and Mr. G. Taplin.- ■'■.;'. '
A night of old-time dancing was indulged in. and judging by the repeated encores it was evident that this kind of programme is gaining in popularity. AH ex-pupils were cordially welcomed to these fortnightly functions and others wishing to attend are reminded that the proceeds are devoted to their "old school."
