HASTINGS, July 19.Hastings withstood Wanganui's Nordon'Cup hockey challenge by 3 goals to 2 today in a fast and thrilling game. The' visitors scored two goals in the first ten minutes. Hastings then settled down,, and afterwards held the territorial advantage, but their superiority Tvas not pronounced. The scores are a good indication of the merits of the teams. The Wangariui scorers were Smallwood and Howartson, 'and for Hastings Prior (2) and Heslop scored. The final stages of the match'were keenly contested, the visitors attacking strongly.
