RUGBY JUBILEES
ALHAMBRA AND KAIKORAI
There ( are to be niomorablo events in Duhectin shortly (for old members of the Kaikorai and Alhambra Eugby Football Clubs. Each club is celebrating its jubilee,. Alhambra>rf festivities beginning on August 28 and Kaikorai's on September 1. By arrangement, the clubs; are combining in some of the celebrations, and the meeting of oldtimers, from both clubs (1884-1914) on September 1 is bound to be .one of the most interesting and entertaining on the- programme of events. The two clubs also will combine for the church parade on September 2. ; Alhambra's smoke concert is to be held on August 28 and Kaikorai's b.n September 8. There will be a jubilee ball under the auspices of each club, Alhambra's on August 30 and Kaikorai's on September 6.
These clubs have contributed well to l^ew Zealand's national game, their records ehowing a formidable array of talented players. In Wellington today there -are many men who have beon associated with Alhainbra and Kaikorai activities in 'Eugby football. A few come to mind—'.'Serummy" Mason (past member of both' clubs), Alex. McDonald, H. Porteous, A. Walker, Ted Fountain, and E, Menzies, of Kaikoraiand W. J. Wallace (for a year), Jim Cleary, and San Abrim, of. Altiambra, They and many more will be greatly interested in the coming events, and it goes without saying that, if they, possibly can, they will be in Dunedin for the reunion of the old 'brigade.
