PETONE BEAT BERHAMPORE

-In a closely-contested game in which most of the. work .was done by tho foiv wards, Petone defeated Berhampore at Petone by 6 points to 3, the scoring being limited to penalty goals. Berhampore were the aggressors in the early stages, but for much of the spell they were on the defensive. Near half-time they were near the Petone line when they were awarded a penalty kick/ and Knudson goaled. Much of the play in the second spell was ragged and neither side was able to score until near the finish when Edwards kicked a penalty goal for Petone from in front Of the posts. Soon afterwards he repeated the eJVort, thereby giving Petone their winning points.
