HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

The House of Representatives met at 2.20 p ; m. today. ■ Notice of his intention to introduce the Hawke's Bay Rivers Amendment Bill was given by Mr. W. E. Barnard (Labour, Napier)." The Prime Minister (the Rt, Hon. G. W. Forbes) moved a motion expressing appreciation, of the services of the late Mr. Andrew Walker, a former member for Dunediu North. MrJ Forbes paid a tribute to the late Mr. Walker's qualities, and said he had won the respect of every member. The leader of the Opposition (Mr. M. J. Savage) said Mr. Walker" was one of the pioneers of the Labour movement. He had been a genuine friend of the poor.

The motion was . carried, and the House adjourned until 7.30 o'clock tonight.
