"MOTHER'S DAY"
V.M.C.A. SERVICE
Upmoriow is "Mother's Day/ known throughout the world, as one for honouring all womanhood, particularly the jnothers. There is an old English custom, still, surviving in somevparts of Britain,, families" gathering together on this day, the second Sunday :in May and worshipping / in, their "mother" church—the- church of their childhood. This custom is'the'background of the modern celebration of "Mother's Day." The symbol' for' the day is a white flower, worn in honour of .one's own mother. - ■■■ , .:
The V.M.C.A. has organised a special service for. young iaen and. women, with regard to "Mothers Day." ' It will bs held in the Association's Lounge tomorrow^ from 4to 5.15 p.m. There will be appropriate - singing. Thespeaker will be the Eev. William Gilniour, the soloist Mr. Ken-Maeaulay, and elocutionist Mr. Jim Osborne. All those attending will be presented with a white flower by the Boys' Division Ladies' Auxiliary.
Queen Margaret College, will reopen on Tuesday, May. 29, fpr the second term, not May 22 as announced.yesterday. ■■-.■■- . .-;
