CULTURE AND SPORTS The .annual meeting of the Anglican Girls' Clubs Society was, held in the Wellington City Anglican^ Young Women's Clubrooms,- Courtenay Place, when members from the various clubs wore present. Mrs. Wallis (in the absence of Mrs. Sprott) presided. The report and balance-sheet were read and adopted. Mrs. Sprott was unanimously reelected president; and the following vice-presidents wero elected for the ensuing -year, viz., Mcsdames Bamett. Gaby, Wallis, Pry, Preston, James, Sykes, Hansell, and Miss Parlane. Miss Watson was re-elected as chairman, Miss Lyon hon. secretary, and^ Miss Newcombo, hon. treasurer. The committee from the various clubs consists of Mrs. Thomas Misses Young, Faulkner, Wilkinson, Ridley, Stone, aud Saville.
The report stated that the year had been a satisfactory one, the usual interclub tournaments being held when considerable interest was displayed. Wellington City Club won the senior banner and cup for the highest number of points, while St. Mary's (Ka'rori) were the ruimei's-up.
An interesting musical programme was contributed, including a song by Miss Martin (St. James Club, Lower Hutt), a piano solo by Miss E. Watts (Wellington City), a song by Miss Murray (Wellington City), a song by Miss Noreen Howe (St. Mary's, Karori), and also a play reading by Wellington City Club members. After supper an enjoyable evening was brought to a close with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
