NELSON NEWS

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

NELSON, May 10,

A new Sunday school, a branch of the Nelson Methodist Church, was opened last evening by the Rev. Clarence Eaton, president of tho Nev.- Zealand Methodist- Conference. The building is situated in Nelson South, at the corner of Kawai and Franklyn. Streets. Tho Rev. E. P. Blamires, youth director for tho Methodist Church in New Zealand, was. present for the ceremony. At the weekly Rotary Club luncheon today, the president, Dr. J. P. S. Jamieson, who is also president of the Nelson Aero Club, gave an infomiativo address on "Aviation in Regard to Nelson."

Mr. A. Gould has been re-elected chairman of the Nelson Harbour Board and Mr. H. W. Kelly deputy chairman. Th'crc was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Missionary Service League of the Church Missionary Society. Tho following officers wore elected for the ensuing year:—President, the. Rev. D. Haultain; vice-presi-dents, Mrs. Estcourt and Mrs. Haultain; secretary, Miss M. McKcllar; treasurer, Mrs. AViggins; missionary box secretary, Miss Cooke; librarians, Mrs. Jnffray'and Mrs. Goodwin; members of committee, Mesdames Coote and Flatt, Miss F. Smith.
