BOROUGH REGULATIONS
Regulations for the control of building operations in the boroughs of Danuevirke, Wobdville, and Eketahuna were published in the Gazette issued last night. .'.'■■'..' In future no person within these boroughs may erect or xo-ereefc or recondition any building, or make any structural alteration ■■ or addition to any building.heretofore or hereafter erected, or remove any building • frohi one placu to another, within the borough or from a jplace ■ outside the borough toany place within the borough, without first obtaining a. building permit from the borougheouucil concerned. No person may cause:or permit any building to be. so erected, re-erected, reconditioned, altered, or removed if a building, permit in that behalf has not first been, obtained from, the council. The councils and "their examining officers will be guided in their decisions by the lessons learned from, recent earthquakes and the accepted" principles of design ana,construction to resist earthquake shocks. J ■■.■■ The guiding principles in the design and construction of buildings to resist earthquake shocks are set out by the Building Regulations Committee in its report dated June .23, 1931, and must take precedence' over existing bylaws of ,tho council concerned. >■
