WEDDINGS

DYER—ADLAM. The wedding was solemnised recently at the Basilica, Hill Street, of Eta May (Pat) Adlam, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. Jatiieson, of Wellington, and Oscar, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Dyer, of Fraddon, Corttwall, England. Tho Rev. Father'; Milllgan, S.M., officiated, and the wedding Viuslc was played by Miss Milligan. The bride, who was escorted by her stepfather, wore a beautiful frock of parchment satin, cut on classic lines with deep yoke of laco and sleeves tight to the elbow and falling away at the wrist. - The skirt-was flared and' widened at.the back to form a train. She wore a Brussels lace veil (lent by a, friend), kept in place with a Juliet cap of tiny orange blossom and seed pearls. She carried a sheaf of lilies, carnations, and gladioli. As the bride was leaving the church she was presented by Miss Vera Cudby (cousin) ! with a lucky horseshoe. TJie bride was attended by her aunt, Mrs. R. Munday, as matron of honour and Miss E. Bell as bridesmaid. Both wore charming frocks of coral pink lace with gathered cape sleeves. Green velvet ribbon formed the sashes, and caps of lace trimmed with green leaves were worn by both*. They carried sheafs of pink roses and carnations. Two small flower girls, Loraine Cudby (cousin of the bride), and Barbara McGlinchey, wore copies of the- elder maids' frocks and carried respectively two dainty baskets of flowers tied with bows of coral pink satin. Mr. C. Dyer (brother of the bridegroom) was best man. The reception was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, where Mrs. -D. Jamieson, assisted by Mrs. G. Hay, received, the guests, the former wearing a smart ensemble of black and deep cream lace with hat to tone, and carrying a posy of cream roses, carnations, and fern. Mrs. Hay wore a smart frock of deep wine-coloured erepc maroeain, fawn hat, and carried a posy of red roses, carnations, and fern. Mrs. E. Cudby (grandmother of the bride) wore an ensemble of black flowered maroeain. Musical items were rendered by Mrs. H. MeWhinnie. ;. Later the bride travelled in a smart navy blue costume of pencil stripe worsted, with pink jumper and hat to tone and carried furs. Mr. and Mrs. Oscar . Dyer's future home will be in Lower Hutt.
