DISTRICT NURSING GUILD
REPORT ON WORK DONE
An enjoyablo outing was provided by the kindness of Mrs. W. Young at her home at Heretaunga, for about 40 old people who are under the charge of the District Nursing Guild of St. John. A delicious tea was provided, and the guests were extremely happy in receiving such thoughtful entertainment. Mrs. Stace (president) and several committee members were present, and Mesdames Shirtcliffe, Daniel, and Misses Barret and C. Young assisted in entertaining tho guests. Cars were kindly provided by Mesdames E. Luke, D. Doctor, Shirteliffe, and Blundell, and some of the nurses were present to assist those Of the old folk who needed help. The committee was much indebted to Mrs. Young for her kind thought. < It was decided to nominate Mrs. R. Pearson for an honour from the Order of St. John. Mrs. Doctor received ai cordial welcome back to the committee after hen absence in England. Very kind offers were received from Mesdames Baleombe Brown, Luke, and Doctor to take the District Nurses by car to any of the more distant cases when necessary. ; The nurses' report showed the following:—Visits to homos during the month, 106; patients' visits to surgery, 165; patients admitted, 34; discharged, 10; sent to hospital, 2; died, 1; remaining on register, 22. Mrs. Doctor donated £1; "M" 10s. Gifts in kind were gratefully received from Mesdames McEae, Baleombe Brown, Matheson, W. Young, Mack, Blackct, French, Stace, Barltrop, Greenwood, Misses Christie, Locker, Rowland Cake Shop, and Anonymous.
