A NEW TOURNAMENT
All sorts of bowling tournaments ara held nowadays—there is no harm da that—arid one of a new variety"'was suggested by Mr. Hinton. (St. Kilda) at a recent meeting of ■: the- Dunedin Centre. As reported by "Draw" in. the "Evening Star," Mr: Hihton suggested that a special tournament be arranged, for players who represent their clubs. in Saturday play in tha positions of leads and seconds. Mr. Hinton contended that such a tourney would give a great number of players a chance to show their ability whereas at present there is little opportunity afforded those mentioned in gaining a place in the ordinary class of tourney. This matter received due consideration from the;delegates, but many were of the opinion that it was rather late • in, the year- to include this item, on the centre's programme, others holding that it_ was a matter for .delegates to deal with at the annual meeting. It was decided to let it stand over .until tha clubs had a chance of discussing it at their annual meetings. . ■
