SHORTAGE OF WATER

For the past five or six weeks residents in the Hawtrey settlement, Johnsonville, have been suffering from a

shortage of water. In quite a number of cases the household tanks are absolutely empty, and water has had to be carried long distances. In the past, overtures have been made to the authorities for water to be laid on to the •settlement, but this has not been' done. Residents in the district are now signing a petition to be sent to the Health Department requesting that some action bo taken to alleviate the position.
