PERJURY CHARGES

(By Telegraph.—-Pres* Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Five charges were preferred against John Black Batchelor, aged 32, a solicitor's clerk, in the Magistrate's Court today alleging perjury in the Supreme Court on August 24 while he was giving evidence in, a case concerning a petition for dissolution of marriage. He was also charged with wilfully attempting to pervert the course of justice and with fabricating evidence with intent to mislead the Supreme Court. He was remanded till December 14.
