CANBERRA, This Day

Minister of Defence (Mr. Francis), replying to a question, stated that precautionary measures against gas attacks on Australian cities wore- being taken by the Commonwealth Government, although a committee of military, naval, and air experts had reported that there-was not much likelihood of such an attack. However, plans were being prepared which would embrace ambulance and police training, anti-gas measures, and the manufacture of cheap, serviceable gas masks and suitable clothing. '
