CHARGE OF ATTEMPTED SUICIDE

CHRISTCHUBCH, November 29.

As a sequel to the admission to the Christchurch Hospital this morning of Mrs. Bertha Nathalia Pike, aged 35, and her two-months-old child, each with wounds in the throat, Mrs. Pike was charged in the Magistrate's Court this afternoon with attempting to commit suicide. She was remanded in custody until December 5.

The child is in a serious condition, but the mother was treated as an outpatient.
