SYDNEY, This Day.

Officials of the State branch of the Australian Labour Party are making an effort to obtain a,recount of the votes cast in the ballot for the election of the first fifteen members of the new Upper House. The returning officer (Mr. Calvert) announced that he would make a declaration this morning.

According to Mr. Graves, general secretary of the Australian Labour Party, application may be made to the Equity Court for an order restraining Mr. Calvert from making a declaration until' a recount is made.
