SWIMMING
WELLINGTON CENTRE
The annual meeting of the Wellington Centre of the Now Zealand Amateur Swimming Association was held last evening. Mr. N. McCartney presided.
The meeting decided that the 1933-34 ] season should commence on December 9 with a similar programme as in previous years. Tho following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Presidents, Mr. I. Duncan; vice-presidents, tho Prime Minister (The Kt. Hon. G. W. Forbes), the Minister of Education (the Hon. 'R. Masters), •Mr. R. Semple, M.P., and Messrs. W. A. Dickson, V. Riddiford, D.1 McKenzie, A. A. Stitchbury, and T. C. A. Hislop; chairman, Mr. W. Gerrie; local officer, Mr, V. Allen; educational officer, Mr. 11. R. Fisher; hon. auditor, Mr. W. G. Morpeth; lion, secretary, Mr. N. N. Oldershaw; hon. treasurer, Mr. R. C. Brndshaw; delegate to N.Z.A.S.A., Mr. B. O'Neill; hon. medical officer, Dr. J. M. Twhigg; executive committee, Messrs. W. Look, C. E. Claridge, N. McCartney, N. N. Oldershaw, W. Gerrie and R. C. .Bradshaw; handicapper, Mr. Iv. Mclntyre; polo sub-com-mittee, Messrs. Vf, Gerrie, B. Mclvor, and C. E. Claridge; tepid baths Bub-comr mittee, Messi's. H. It. Fisher, N. McCart-. ney, W. Gerrie, A. A. Jenkins, , and P. Coira. Appreciation of the work done by the retiring chairman and treasurer, Messrs.' McCartney and Look, was expressed by members, and a special vote of thanks was carried with acclamation. A letter of thanks is to be sent to Mr. K. Mclntyre, the centre's handicapper, for his work during the past season. In view of the centre's financial position it was decided to send an appeal to clubs asking''for donations.
