Chide set new figures when he won in'3min 23 3-ssec four,years ago; land Fast Passage did 3min 23 l-ssec last year. Palantua went even better on Saturday, registering 3min 22 l-ssec. This is also a New Zealand and Australian record, replacing the 3min '22% sec of Star Stranger ,in the Trentham Gold Cup in 1928.
