WEDDINGS

FISHES—COWELL.

The wedding was celebrated recently at St. James's Church, Lower Hutt, pf Mabel, fourth daughter of Mr, and Mrs. L. H. Cowell,, Lower Ilutt, and James, only son of Mr. and Mis. W. E. Fisher, Lower Hutt. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. 11. V. C. Eeynolds. • The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a slim-fitting gown of urepe satin, with long sleeves puffed at.the- shoulders. Her beautiful embroidered tulle veil, which was worn back from the face, was caught to,the head with a wreath, of orange blossom, and formed a train,- She carried a sheaf of arum lilies. On leaving the church, little Jean Fuller presented the bride with a "lucky" horseshoe. .

Attending the bride was her sister, Miss Edie Cowel), who wore a salmon pink satin frock, with an organdie coatee of the same shade, both being trimmed with frills. She wore a hat of summer felt to match and carried a shower bouquet of tulips, poppies, and Jilies. Mr. Selwyn Collings was best man.

A reception was held at tho residence of the- bride's sister. Mrs. Cowcll, who received tho guests, wore a smart tailored costume and black straw'hat. The bridegroom's mother wore a frock of black silk marocain trimmed with beige georgette and a black straw hat.
