LONDON, November .4. . The "Daily Telegraph" learns authoritatively that the Cunard and White Star steamship lines hara reached a basis for an agreement for the fusion of their Atlantic interests. ■
The companies' primary object for the merger is to secure financial assistance from the Government toenabla the unfinished Cunarder to bo cotu* ploted. .
