OLYMPIC GOLD CUP
20-MILES HARRIER RACE
The entries for the Olympic Gold Cup 20-miles race at Trentham next Saturday indicate that the event is still a popular one among the more hardy harriers.' E. C. Brown, of Otago, will be a starter this year,' anil if conditions are favourable, a record time should be set." The individual entrants, who will compete for the Phipson Trophy, are E.G. Brown (Otago), S.T. Butherford and A. J. F. Carter, Kiatero (Masterton), and A. •G. Bagnall (Victoria College). There will be four local teams competing. They are as follows: —Scottish: A. L. Stevens (holder of the individual trophy), Parkhouse, McLeod, Olifent, Tunbridgc, McMillan, Clements, and Scoble. Brooklyn: 0. B. Boberts, D. Sinclair, D. Pedersen, L. C. Todd, and A. Barclay. Olympic: E. Lovatt, J. B. Perston, W. Scatchard, A. Workman, ■A. Chandler, J. Blanchficld, C. Campbell, P. Wilson, B. Garnham, and Ayrcs. Wellington: T. Mulcahy, S. Morris, McConehie, Willetts, and Allan. Olympic; the holders of tho cup, will iiot have things all their own way with such a strong field competing. The race starts from Trentham. Bacocourse at 2.30 p.m. It will bo over a four-lap course,'mueh of which can be gcen from, the grandstand. Both the' individual finish and the teams result should be very close, the whole making an interesting afternoon's sport.
