■ Jackson Street, Petone's main thoroughfare, is presenting a very clean appearance at present because of the activity of the borough council's officials in keeping stray dogs from running wild there The borough council has a bylaw which states that dogft have to be kopt on the leash in Jackson Street and on the Esplanade, and at a recent meeting of the council it was decided to enforce the bylaw, and tins lias been done with very successful results. Petone seems to have an extra large number of dogs of all shapes, sizes, nnd breeds. ......
