UNIVERSITY DEBATE

The annual inter-faculty debate was held at Victoria University College last night on the subject, "That the World is as far from peace as ever." In this debate a team of three representing tho combined faculties of Law and Commerce meets every year the team of the combined faculties of. Arts and Science. This year Law and Commerce were represented by Messrs. G. Crossley, E. j. Larkin, and CM; P. Brown, and tho Arts and Science' team consisted of Miss M. Pridoau Pridham, Messrs. K. Tahiwi, and B. A. Fortune. The vice-president of the college "debating society (Mr. A. H. Seotney) was in the chair. Mr. E. P. Hay acted as judge, and in awarding the debate to the negative side (Law and Commerce) complimented the debatbrs on the' quality of tho speaking. He placed the speakers in the following order:—Mr. Gr. Crosaley, Miss Prideau Pridham, and Mr. Brown, equal; Mr. Tahiwi, Mr. Fortune, Mr. Larkiri.
