ST. JAMES THEATRE.
To the bewitching music of "Adorable" and "Sly Heart's Desire," Janet Gaynor and Henry Garat sing end flirt their way along the primrose path oi love in the new picture at the St. James Theatre. Love has been seed In many guises and disguises, but seldom in bo whimsical an attire as in this picture "Adorable." Janet Is a princess who escaped from tho palace to attend a servants' ball, and Henry is a military officer who found her there. Besides being romance, "Adorable" is comedy and spectacle. Tho royal court scenes, the ballroom, the uniforms, the band, the long vista of corridor nfter corridor, tho musical kitchen, and all the other frills of roj-alty are spectacle enough; and Herbert Mundin's .sneeze provides the comedy. Also, there is an original and refreshing vein of comedy in Garat's successive promotions, and In the medals with which the Prime Minister (C. Aubrey Smith) occasionally adorns his own bosom. There are good supports.'
Audacious and gay with music, mirth, and melody, "Reunion in Vienna," adapted from the famous play by Robert" Sherwood, will bo the next attraction at the St. James Theatre. It stars Diana Wynyard, John Barrymore, and May Robson. The plot is set In the workaday, practical Vienna of 1933, where the beautiful wife of a famous doctor yearns to recapture the glories of the vanished Habsburgs. How these flambuoyant ghosts from tho past come back for one glorious evening, led by the exarchduke, and bow the lovely wife becomes again the most spoiled and outrageous beauty of a hectic court, make a superbly polished comedy. ■
