ST. AUGUSTINE'S
The Mayor of Petone (Mr. D. McKenzie) performed the opening ceremony at the St. Augustine's Club's courts, and complimented the club on the trees planted round the courts. Tennis, hesaid, was a good game for keeping one in general health. He referred to the increasing popularity of the game in the district. In his youth, he said, tennis was a game confined mostly, to the wealthy. Mr. McKenzie, who was introduced by Mr. V. H. Le Soeuf, hit the first ball over the net.
