A GARDEN PARTY
BIBLE SOCIETY OFFICERS
Mrs. D. Anderson entertained the members, of the Hankey Street branch of the Bible Society at her residence, Hankey Street, recently. The boautiful garden and grounds were greatly admired and much .'enjoyed. The organising secretary addressed the gathering upon the world-wide work of tho society, the translation, revision, and circulation of the Scriptures, quoting an eminent authority who suggested that even if the Bible Society had never circulated a single copy of tho Scriptures it would yet havo done < a noble; Work in affording' a meeting ground for Christian people of all ranks and stations and of every denomination. The following officers were elected:— President, Mrs. D. Anderson; secretary, Mrs. Remington (to whom a hearty vote of appreciation was accorded for her years of faithful and devoted service). A high tribute was also paid to Miss Reeves for her zeal as collector for the wholo district. Tea, dispensed by Mrs. Anderson, brought an enjoyable afternoon to a close. ' '
