BUTTER MARKET POSITION
United Presa Association—By Electric Telesrapb—Copjrlght. (Received October 2, 10 a.m.) LONDON, October 1. The butter market had a slight setback due to slackening in demand from buyers who recently have been purchasing heavily and are now holding off. Sales of Australian have been so good lately that pVactically nothing was left on importers' hands. There is, however, probably a considerable quantity in cold store belonging to big wholesale houses who were buying all through the season.
Joseph Nathan and Co., Ltd., have received from their principals, Trengrouse ana Nathan, Ltd., London, the following cabled advice, dated September 30:—"New Zealand butter: 104s .per cwt. New Zealand cheese: White and coloured, 51s per cwt. Both markets weak."
