The-weddiflg ■ was solemnised this afternoon at St. Stephen's Church, Lower Hutt, of Agnes Gowerj only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F„ Bayly, and George James, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. F. G. Buck, all of Lower Hutt. • ,' •' , The officiating minister was the Bey, J. E. LopdelL and Miss T; Conlon was' at the organ. During the service Mrs. W. 11. Phillips sang a,solo. The bride, who was escorted by* her father, wore a charming-frock of white lace lined with pale green silk, and a pale green veil caught with ' orange blossom. She< carried a^spray of lilies of the valley, white roses; and carnations; The bridesmaid, Miss Evelyn Buck (sister of the bridegroom), wore a frock of primrose yellow angel skin, and a crinoline straw hat to tone. She carried a spray of flowers toning with her frock. Tho bridegroom was attended; by Mr. Malcolm Bayly (brother of th» bride). The reception was held in the hall adjoining the church, and Mrs. Bayly received the guests, wearing a frock of blue, figured suzette. She ..carried a posy of wallflowers and forget-me-nots. Mrs: F. G. Buck (mother Of the bridegroom) wore a frock of grey afghalinc. and lace, and jcarried a posy of frcesias. During the reception Mrs. W. H. Phillips and Mr. P. Andrews sang songs. The bride's travelling, frock was of wheat-coloured crinkle-crepe, trimmed with brown, with a brown coat and hat to tone. ■ Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Buck's future home will be at Lower Hutt. CAIBNS—MESSENGER. The wedding took place recently at the Presbyterian Church; Palmerston North, of EUeen Hammill, younger daughter of Mrs. and the fete Mr. W. H. Messenger, of Palmerston North, to Horace James, eldest son of Mr. J. and the late Mrs. Cairns,"of Miramar, Wellington. The Bey. G. T. Brown, MJL, officiated, and Mrs. B. F. Barlow played the wedding music The bride, who was escorted by her brother-in-law,' Mr. J. P. Laurie, wor* a slim-fitting frock of ivory crinkly crepe flaring to the ankles. Her long veil wa3 arranged with a coronet of orange blossom, and she carried cyclamen and camellias. Two bridesmaids, Misses Frances Potbury and Myrtle Cairns (sister of the bridegroom), wore crepe de chine frocks of desert glow and pale green, with frilled sleeves. Flowers to tone trimmed their white felt hats, and they carried freesias and polyanthus. A small flower-girl, Beryl Laurie (niece of the bride), wore a frilled frock of primrose crepe do chine and a Juliet cap. Her bouquet was of primroses and forget-me-nots. Mr. A. Amos was best man, and Mr. J. Long groomsman. Tho bride's mother entertained the guests at Collinson and Cunninghamc's tearooms. The bride travelled in a cigar-brown marocain frock, with coat and hatfcto tone. ,
