At on» end of the ball the "eoat-of-anns" chosen' by the staff, consisting of two crossed picks with., a. shovel placed at the perpendicular, adorned the- wall. The Mayor of Lower Hutt, Mr. J. W. Andrews,. welcomed those present and complimented the staff on the excellent arrangements made. . The supper arrangements were carried through expeditiously, a very dainty supper being served in the hall from dinner wagons. Mrs. J.
