POSITION IN BRITAIN

RUGBY, September 19.
The latest Treasury -returns showthat the ordinary revenue for the current financial year up to September 16 amounted to £257,692,185. At the corresponding date of last year the amount stood at £253,899,990. Ordinary expenditure to date for the current year totalled £307,385,272, •which is more than £32,000,000 less than the total ordinary expenditure at ■the corresponding'date of laat j^ear,
