\ large gathering oC players and supporters of the Johnsonville Rugby Football Club attended the annual smoke conceit, held in the club's gymnasium. The tmiction, presided over by Mr. A. A. X Mi j denhall and C. Noye); "Kindred Clubs' (proposed by Mr. H. E. Chancy, reply- by Mr. C. Parsloe); "Coaches" (proposed by Air' E. Perryman, replies by Messrs. H. McKcnzie, A. Richardson, J. Davies, and R Burns); "St. John Ambulance and Press" (proposed by Mr. J. Green, reply by Mr. M. Carter); "Ladies,, and Social Committees" (proposed by Mr. A. Wnelcii, reply by Mr. A. Harrisson, hon. secrea Dming the evening the captain of the iunior team (It. Engel) was presented with the Orr Cup, the trophy going each year to the team with the best performance to its credit. Mr. J. Renner wasj also the recipient of a presentation to mark the occasion of his recent marriage. The "Wing Forward" Memorial bnield match, held in the afternoon, resulted m •i draw, 9-all, the married men retaining possession. Mr. H. E. Chancy, as captun of the married team, accepted the shield from the chairman. Items, which were very much appirciatcd, were given by Messrs. P. Isbistcr, Jack Green, Len Selwood, C. Gane, is., Beaumont, T. Kenny, and Whelch The piano was kindly lent by Mrs. Henderson. During the evening a telegram was re-ceh-ed 8 through My. F. Molesworth .from Mr Scott Ramsay, offering to donate a cup to the club, and this offerAvas received with enthusiasm. On behalf of the club Mr. A. A.
