Fifty years ago today—Equinox Day (September 21, 1883) —the Midland Cricket Club came into being. Representatives of the Bohemian Club and the Excelsior Club held a meeting at, which they decided to amalgamate and carry on in the game as the Midland Cricket Club. Messrs. W. P. McGirr. and F. K.
